I grew more as an artist from this piece by using and gaining more experience with clay. If I could start over I would stick with slabs instead of trying to make my base out of a pinch pot. That would have saved more time and effort. I also would have changed the shape of the top since it looked abnormaly tall. I had goals of finishing it and I did. My biggest risk was making the coils at the top because they take forever to roll them and slip them.
Duck heart Cardboard, acrylic paint, and a cut out knife 2014 Foundations What inspired me the most to make this shape was to make something that wasn't to strategic. I wanted it to look like it doesn't have order. I'm motivated to always be more creative. To do this I first sketched it then drew it on cardboard. After that I cut it out, put jesow and painted it. My artwork means ownership to me. I feel very accomplished that I made something one of a kind Fresh 2014 Foundations I was inspired by emotions to make and chose my prints. I was motivated by the tutorial I saw and after I chose my photo. I chose my picture editied it and then put on my slab and started to carve it out. I like how it finally turned out and the vibe I was going for. The picture looks fun and I start to reminisce. Here to protect Cardboard, cut out knife, and spray paint 2014 Foundations I was inspired to do this project by some other street artists that make these type of artworks. And I was motivated to do this by doing something that needed to be heard more about. I first thought of my idea then made a stencil and cut out the black and red of my stencil then spray painted. I think my artwork looks a lot better than I imagined and I like the message. Cupcake Clay, paint 2014 Foundations I was originally inspired by a picture of a llama on a cupcake that was photoshopped. I wanted to make this random but the llama cupcake was funny to me. I used clay to make mold. I made the base using slabs and finished the top with coils. I then made sprinkles on the top. It was fired and then painted. The cupcake, after glossed look cool. I'm excited to be able to use it or just leave it to have. I didn't make much change from switching my color scheme and switching it to cardboard to make look grungy. I switched these that way it wouldn't look to messy and all over the place. The colors would go straight to the point of my project and the cardboard would tone it down. I didn't want it to be all in your face but straight and simple. Right my project looks successful and I'm very proud. As of right now, I'm very excited about my project and how it will turn out. My carving out has gone well and so has the spray painting. I still need to carve out some more just to add more detail but, I'm still excited. The only thing that hasn't worked really well has been my managing of time that has made me impatient. I haven't run into big problems that Mrs. Singleton couldn't help on yet. I did have to change my color scheme I had planned to have color in it, but after thinking about it, I decided to make it look more grunge than polished and did only black and red. For this project I used the art principals constrast, emphasizing, and trying to make the project look equal. This add more power to my project by making the point bigger and making my project worth it. If I make poster and people don't get the point even after looking at it for a while it defeats the purpose a little. I experimented a bit with drawing because I seem to be awful at that so drawing people or their faces was risky for me. |
