fabric project
This project I think is the only one where, I can't gather my feelings correctly and realize to point out where I went wrong, because I can't say that I love it. It was originally inspired by the glitched rugs or fabrics I saw. Since the patterns rubbed off such s good vibe I knew I wanted to incorporate that. Ultimately, though I worked hard on it , I am still puzzled and unpleased. My tools were paint, and a canvas.
collage- rosy Lips
For my collage I did a canvas paper, painted with a background of rosy, pinky, "swirls" . With pictures that make my point of collage. I started out with the idea that "you are what you believe", but once I actually started it changed slightly. The point of it now is to emaphazize the superior features of a woman with added mystery. I do like the way it turned out. It's definitely a very feminist piece, though I didn't intend it to be. My tools were very simple, including paper, glue, paint, pictures , and patches.
Prints
Abril Galaviz
For our prints my tools were paper, ink, glue, foil, paper towels, and fake petals. My process for my prints started off easy then I realized that you couldn't see all of the detail, so I played with colors and mixing them to get the right shade. It paid a bit of a difference, but what really helped was waiting till the background was dry and then layering the mermaid last. I like how you would expect the mermaid to be the main part of my prints, but I acaully intended for moods in my color swatches.
